I recently enjoyed a gourmet getaway at Senkouji, and I must say, it was a good experience. After a long day exploring Japan, we discovered the charming Thai restaurant, Mai Pen Rai, where the owner warmly welcomed us. The food was definitely a highlight-each dish bursting with flavor and skillfully prepared. The hotel is perched atop numerous stairs, which we tackled with ease after leaving our heavier luggage at the station. The clean and well-maintained guest house provided stunning views of Onomichi harbor from our bedroom, perfect for soaking in the sunrise. The atmosphere was inviting, with traditional Japanese features and a lovely garden creating a tranquil space. Quick access to local eateries made it convenient for us; we even indulged in delicious ramen and pastries from nearby bakeries.
